Back-Stories: Care, Labor, and the Body is a communal investigation of care-work and somatic* experiential intelligence. Each week, I gathered with a group of friends, artists, writers, and community organizers in my home to imagine new definitions of labor based in care and embodiment. The goal of this work is to engage people physically in the process of theorizing a new social paradigm; attending to the beauty of the work we all do in the name of care, the difficulty of communicating pain and truths held in our bodies, and the challenge of proving the value and credibility of both.

This dialogue, alongside the intimate process of casting each person's back in plaster, fostered the trust that allowed us to redefine relationships to care, work, and our bodies with the support of our collective vulnerability.
